Obama Speech

I was truely moved when reading this speech. I thought Barrack did an amazing job covering so many issues of today's American society. I especially liked it when he talked about his Reverend from his home town. He goes over his reverend's ideas and his own, and makes it quite clear that many of the things his rev. says he agrees with, as well as many his strongly disagrees with. One thing that surprised me was O'bama's family. His family ranges of all ages and races, he explains that he has family located in three different continents. I completely agree with the grasp he has on bringing together America as a singular unit. That concept especially appeals to me. The article was quite long but in no way am i disappointed in reading it. Since the beginning Barrack O'bama has had my vote, but after reading his speech I now know who needs to be America's next president. If he does win we will finally have a president without his head completely stuffed up his ass.

My family

I couldn't be happier with my immediate family. My parents Dick and Denise Sullivan who are still happily married after 28 years, are just as fun and loving as they were nineteen years ago when I was born. I also have a 26 year old brother named Mike, and a 10 year old yellow lab named Riley who recently has gone blind :( My mother has been a work experience teacher at Rosemount High school now for over 30 years, and my father is the vice president of a paper company located in my hometown. My brother graduated from the U of M and currently works for the TARGET corp. in downtown Minneapolis.
To tell you the truth a good way to describe my family could be "fun-outgoing party animals." As you know my family is very Irish, and last night my parents were celebrating St. Patty's day and I had a pretty low key night (still recovering from the night before.) Anyways I am downstairs with my girlfriend watching a movie and my parents came home from a long night on the town. At that time my father hadn't met my new fling yet because we met in Mankato. So his drunk ass comes running downstairs not expecting a lady friend to be there, so of course he has to embarrass me with a loud " ooooooooooooooohhhhh! Brady! got a girl over! Nice!!!!" He then pops a squat right on top of her puts his arm around her and and says "so kids what are we watchin?" My girlfriend thought it was hilarious, I obviously didn't, he really knows how to embarrass me when he wants.
That's just a dose of what my family is all about. Don't get me wrong my parents are not alcoholic bar dwellers, they just love to have a good time, especially on St. Patty's day. That's my family and I'm stickin with em!

A Modest Proposal

As I read through the reading of a Modest Proposal it did two things to me. First it confused me, a lot, and second it got me thinking, a lot. I am still trying to figure out why they killed young infants and beggars. From what I got of it was to feed the highly upper class people of the Kingdom. This paper had much to do with the upbringing of poor people in Ireland, and how to fix that problem. I believe that Jonathon Swift, the author greatly disagreed with many of the ideas that went on back then. It's hard for me to believe that back then they didn't have people to love them and raise them, but in all reality had them just to breed them. This paper was an eye-opener from what i understood of it, but at the same time confused the hell out of me.
