I was searching on www.craigslist.com to find an extremely dumb, pointless item with absolutely no value and I found something called a giant lawn ornament. All it entails is a large blue backhoe attachment deal that looks like it had broke sometime in the late 40's. It is just the front end of an old farm equipment scooper. Some of the descriptions include: Have a neighbor who pisses you off?, Put it on the property boundary, that way he will have to look at this every day.
Need a place to tie the dog to for the day? He'll never move this thing.
When you have your 4Th of July BBQ, This is a great conversation starter. You can brag how you will strip it, paint it, and how well this thing will work after you put all that work into it.
A lovely place to hang your tarp! Makes a unique cooler for that 4Th of July party or trellis for those rambling briar's. Bragging rights - yup, worth mentioning twice.
It weighs between 1000-1500lbs. It also includes many F.A.Q. Here is what the seller had to say:
Q: Can u load this on my trailer?
A: No my wife is a wimp. It will have to be partially dismantled. I have a loader that can lift approx 500-700 lbs.
Q: Can u hold this for a couple of months till I decide I don't want it?
A: NO; 1st person to arrive gets it.
Q; Do u think my wife will be pissed if I came home with this?
A: No The only thing about this that will upset your wife, is that she did not find it first, that way she could surprise you.
Q: Would you be able to deliver this fine piece of equipment?
A: SURE; why not, if you like, I can also dismantle it, strip the paint off it, repaint it, lubricate it, deliver it, reassemble it, and make sure it is in fine working condition, all for a GEE, THANKS ALOT MAN.
I had a big kick out of this attempt to sell such a shitty item, I mean honestly is this a joke? There is no one on god's green earth who would ever want to buy this. Ha ha it is absolutely ridiculous. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that it is FREE! if the guy tried to put a price tag on it he would have to be extremely greedy or straight up senile.

Once
I enjoyed the film "Once" very much. The music was by far my favorite part of the movie, it had catchy tunes which were in my head the entire night after class. The film gave off this personal vibe in which you felt as if you were right there with them. I believe it makes people feel that way because of the way they filmed it, the camera was semi low budget and wasn't very still, it was as if the camera was actually yourself being right there with them. As far as the love story part of it, I really liked it because it wasn't predictable and involved two very original people. In fact after I viewed the film I recommended it to a few people if they ever wanted to see a well done Indy film. All in all the creators of Once did a marvelous job portraying the characters and representing that anyone in thew world can achieve something if they just work hard enough and find the right people to motivate them.
Also I believe that all the movies that we watched this semester were great. The Woody Harelson movie really caught my eye and actually got me to drink soy milk for about 3 days. I realized after 3 days of drinking it that I didn't care what was in real milk. The Office is also great, I really enjoyed watching such a funny show in school which also had to do with the subject we were learning about. To sum up this semester we watched some awesome inspiring movies.

As a child
Every Saturday mourning I would watch my favorite cartoon, Batman! All i talked about played with, or watched had to do something about Batman. I owned the original 1960's version of Batman and would watch it over and over. I also had probably around 50-60 little batman figures which i called my "guys." So I wouldn't say I had only one prized toy as a child I had dozens. I would take my guys everywhere I went, from taking a couple to school, in the bathtub, or going to my grandmothers house, they would be with me at all times. My mother actually had to put a limit on how many I took when i went places. But now looking back my guys somewhat made me who I am today. For instance the scenarios I put my guys through when playing in the past, I could see myself doing in the future. Such as having my guys free fall from the top of my bunk bed could explain how bad today I want to try skydiving. That's just one example, but I don't think I would be who I am today if it wasn't for my Batman guys.

Entourage
My personal all time favorite show is an HBO series called Entourage. It is mainly about four guys who live in southern California together. They live in a giant mansion paid for by a mega celebrity Vincent Chase. Vince lives with his brother Johnny or "Drama", his best friend Eric or "E", and another friend Turtle. Vince is a huge star, Eric is his go to guy, Drama bases his career of Vince to score minor acting jobs, and Turtle just likes to get high and live the fabulous lifestyle, but his real job if you can even say that its a real job is just to drive the boys around. Each episode of every season so far has been absolutely crazy. The show revolves around all four guys lives, and the extreme high profile life they live. In almost every episode there is cameos by real celebs who play themselves. I own every season so far and hopefully more to come. I don't think it matters if your a male or female, if your young and eager to watch an absolutely awesome show go out and buy the seasons, rent them, or call your cable provider for HBO, because you have to get hooked on this show.

extreme emotion
Last week i found out that my grandmother who in which I am extremely close to has become very ill. Starting when she was 23 years old she was diagnosed with arthritis, since then she has had over 20 operations on all parts of her body from her hands to her spinal cord. The past couple years she has been in great shape emotionally and physically, but the last few months she just hasn't been the same loving happy go lucky grandmother I have always known. She became so weak and feeble that my grandfather had to bring her to the hospital. She has gone through many treatments and therapy since then, and the doctors still do not know what is wrong with her. She is down to 71 pounds currently and has had trouble eating and speaking. They think that she has a severe case of pneumonia but are not 100% sure. I have been extremely concerned lately and have had her in my prayers all week long. I love the woman to death and hate to see her in pain. All I want is for her to get better and keep leading the happy life she has always had. You probable are asking yourself, how is her life so jolly after having arthritis everywhere in her body for the past 50 years. The answer to that is she is so happy because our family is extremely supportive and loving, and that's what makes her such a happy wonderful person. Marian Patricia Lassonde is my role model and I love her so dearly and that's what makes my emotions go wild when i hear when something goes wrong with her. Love ya grandma!

perspectives on advertising
As you know my first paper dealt with the techniques alcohol or beer companies use when advertising to the public. So off that note I do enjoy the world of marketing and advertising. I have also seriously thought about going into marketing as a career. There are so many different types of ad campaigns out there, some which grab people's attention emotionally, humorously, and some that make you go into a physical aspect such as sporting good ads. Obviously the best advertisements are released in late January or early February in America's favorite sporting event, the Super Bowl! My favorite advertisement in this years Super Bowl was a Bud Light ad. In the beginning of the commercial it starts off by telling the public how great it is to drink Bud Light and how great it tastes, and then says and now the ability to breath fire. It then shoots to a scene where a man and a woman are having dinner together and to impress the woman the man blows fire out of his mouth to lights the dinner candles. The woman is obviously in awe that the man just blew fire out of his mouth. He then states " Ahhh do you have a cat?" He then starts sneezing everywhere causing large flames to pour out of his mouth and catch everything on fire, even the cat. At the end of the commercial it tells the audience "the ability to breath fire no longer available in Bud Light." It's a great ad and gets people to laugh out loud. Although some people do not enjoy commercials because it cuts into their precious shows, I believe television wouldn't be the same without advertisements.

Obama Speech
I was truely moved when reading this speech. I thought Barrack did an amazing job covering so many issues of today's American society. I especially liked it when he talked about his Reverend from his home town. He goes over his reverend's ideas and his own, and makes it quite clear that many of the things his rev. says he agrees with, as well as many his strongly disagrees with. One thing that surprised me was O'bama's family. His family ranges of all ages and races, he explains that he has family located in three different continents. I completely agree with the grasp he has on bringing together America as a singular unit. That concept especially appeals to me. The article was quite long but in no way am i disappointed in reading it. Since the beginning Barrack O'bama has had my vote, but after reading his speech I now know who needs to be America's next president. If he does win we will finally have a president without his head completely stuffed up his ass.

My family
I couldn't be happier with my immediate family. My parents Dick and Denise Sullivan who are still happily married after 28 years, are just as fun and loving as they were nineteen years ago when I was born. I also have a 26 year old brother named Mike, and a 10 year old yellow lab named Riley who recently has gone blind :( My mother has been a work experience teacher at Rosemount High school now for over 30 years, and my father is the vice president of a paper company located in my hometown. My brother graduated from the U of M and currently works for the TARGET corp. in downtown Minneapolis.
To tell you the truth a good way to describe my family could be "fun-outgoing party animals." As you know my family is very Irish, and last night my parents were celebrating St. Patty's day and I had a pretty low key night (still recovering from the night before.) Anyways I am downstairs with my girlfriend watching a movie and my parents came home from a long night on the town. At that time my father hadn't met my new fling yet because we met in Mankato. So his drunk ass comes running downstairs not expecting a lady friend to be there, so of course he has to embarrass me with a loud " ooooooooooooooohhhhh! Brady! got a girl over! Nice!!!!" He then pops a squat right on top of her puts his arm around her and and says "so kids what are we watchin?" My girlfriend thought it was hilarious, I obviously didn't, he really knows how to embarrass me when he wants.
That's just a dose of what my family is all about. Don't get me wrong my parents are not alcoholic bar dwellers, they just love to have a good time, especially on St. Patty's day. That's my family and I'm stickin with em!

A Modest Proposal
As I read through the reading of a Modest Proposal it did two things to me. First it confused me, a lot, and second it got me thinking, a lot. I am still trying to figure out why they killed young infants and beggars. From what I got of it was to feed the highly upper class people of the Kingdom. This paper had much to do with the upbringing of poor people in Ireland, and how to fix that problem. I believe that Jonathon Swift, the author greatly disagreed with many of the ideas that went on back then. It's hard for me to believe that back then they didn't have people to love them and raise them, but in all reality had them just to breed them. This paper was an eye-opener from what i understood of it, but at the same time confused the hell out of me.

Go Further
I thought the DVD Go Further was a true eye-opener. I really have never thought much about many of the topics the movie covered. In the beginning when Woody Harelson gave the facts about milk it really got me to start thinking. For example I have been to the cafeteria several times since i viewed the film and I have started to drink soy milk , and cut back on meats. I can't say that i love the taste of it, but it's something to get used to. I bet I have told half a dozen people about the milk part. I also really enjoyed the filming style, it gave off a documentary feel as if you were part of their journey. I wish that every young adolescent could watch this movie. If we can stop many of the problems mentioned in the film now it could substantially decrease so many of the world's problems. Without a doubt this documentary gives off many emotions, it makes you stop and think that if we all worked together as a nation or many nations we can solve these issues. It easy to say, but in all reality I don't know if it can ever work.

My Name
As you know my name is Brady Sullivan. The name Brady is an old irish nickname or surname, from the decendant of Bradach. The meaning of the name Brady is "spirited one." When i was born my parents did not know if Iwas going to be a boy or a girl so they decided on two differnt names; Brady or Megan. Since I did turn out to be a male I luckily recieved the name Brady. I'm sure I would have been the laughing stock of the neighborhood if my name was Megan. I am in fact 100% irish blooded so the name Brady fits my heritage quite well. I have been recently designing a tattoo that vertically reads "Spirited One" and I am very excited to scar my body with that tat. My brother who's name is Michael or Mike was the one who made the final decision on my name when I was born. I think he chose Brady because he wanted a brother with a semi-unique name because his is so generic. This past year one of my family's very close friends recently named there son Brady after me, which obviously touched me very deeply. In the long haul I will always like my name and stories behind it.

What did you learn at library? What concerns do you still have with paper?
I learned quite a bit at the library about research, books, and how to find resources. When I first arrived at the library I was certain about my research topic. Shortly after I realized that the topic of ski managment as an occupation would be rather tough to find information about. So I switched my topic to the wonderful history of Beer. I found out that beer would be much easier to find information about, and I would feel more comfortable composing a paper of this matter. I am happy wiht my decision and hope to write an very imfomative paper on the history of beer.
Some concerns I have with my topic is when I am writing I hope I don't assume any information or express any of my opinions on the subject. Another concern is accomplishing my task on time. I tend to procrastinate a lot and am worried my draft won't be finished on time. Other than that I feel that this paper will be a success and I am somewhat excited to research and write on the topic of beer.

Cold Weather
Cold weather and I share a love/hate relationship. In my mind there is nothing better than the first snowfall every year here in Minnesota. The snow here can be so defined and beautiful. It puts a smile on my face everytime I see children outside enjoying the winter wonderland. This make me happy because it reminds me of when I was a little tyke loving every minute being outside. Either building snow forts or throwing snowballs at my neighbor Gary while he tried shuveling his front walkway. As I grew older I realized my favorite hobby happened to fall in the winter months. I have been snowboarding now for about ten years, and to me there is nothing better in the world. My family and I usually take atleast one ski/snowboard trip out west every year. On the other hand cold weather can be a big drag. Cold weather usually doesn't bother me butwhen it reaches below zero I tend to stay indoors as much as I can. The one other thing i don't enjoy about cold weather or winter in general is the sloppy dirty snow on the roads that is one of my pet peaves. In all there really isn't that much I can complain about because i just absolutley love winter.

Favorite Place
Without a doubt i would have to say the most fascinating place i have ever been is Big Sky, Montana. I recently went on a snowboard vacation there from Jan. 5th-12th. The mountain terrain is simply unbelievable, which makes the snowboarding there a fantasy. The highest part of the mountain is named Lone Peak. It is over 14,000 vertical feet. To get to the highest part of the mountain you need to ride up 2 different chairlifts, and a 25 person tram which finally brings you much higher above the clouds to the summit. Once you arrive at the top, your stomach drops to your knees, and your legs start to shake because of the extreme height and altitude. On a clear day it is the most amazing sight, you can actually see the Te ton Mountains, which are hundreds and hundreds of miles away. Big Sky, Montana is a great place to ski, party, relax, and hopefully someday for me, become a resident.
